Made in 15 Minutes

This was done during our COMM150 Introduction to Journalism class.

We came up with the concept (and by we, I mean Catherine :P) and filmed all of this within 15 minutes, the time given to complete the surprise in-class assignment. This was shot in sequence in the library beneath St. Ignatius Parish by my school. When we got back to class, various groups presented their projects and we were pretty much the most excited to see our efforts on screen. I told everyone I was going to edit it and post it on Facebook as soon as I got home. And I did. The main track is Ensurance Trap by Michael Andrews from the Donnie Darko soundtrack. The credit track is Liquid Spear Waltz by Michael Andrews as well. Enjoy! :)

In other news, Halloween sure has creeped up on me this year. I'm so excited it's on a Friday! There are a lot of events going on tomorrow, including Poison and Dooms (not interested in either), and of course the midnight double feature of John Carpenter's Halloween and The Thing at The Rio and what not, but I'd much rather just chill it out with friends at my friend's house party. I'm not gonna say what I'm dressing up as though; you'll just have to see it in person, or wait for the photographs :)

not that I'm counting, really

The first time I tried to quit smoking, I didn't try hard enough. I only made it 3 days without.

The second time I tried to quit smoking, I kept thinking about going back to it some time after 28 days was over. And I did.

The last time I smoked, I had blazed the same day. I went out to eat with a bunch of friends, and when Brock asked me if he could have a cig while waiting for the order, I decided right then and there to give him the rest of my pack and call it quits.

I haven't smoked a cigarette since, and it's officially been a month. I don't know how I did it, again, but I think NOT counting the days factored into my success. I remember last time I just kept obsessing over what day it was and had it in my mind that as long as I made it to 28, I proved enough. I had subconsciously decided I could smoke again after that period. Lately, I've also been very busy, too busy and too broke, working my ass off, trying to make things work, so I could pay off my bills.

Every time I see someone smoking now, I think, Wow, when was the last time? When I start asking this, I know I truly miss it, and so I had to check how long it's been. I can't believe it's been a month. I just had to blog about this so I can come back and remember I made it this far just fine.

a fatal attraction to cuteness

I've always been a fan of Gwen Stefani. I remember when I was a little girl, one of my favourite songs was Just a Girl, and I begged my dad to buy me No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom as my very first CD. Thirteen years later and she's already established her own clothing line and has a new line of fragrances, Harajuku Lovers.
