give thanks

My it's been awhile. I've been wanting to blog but I've spent most of my days out, either working or chilling with my friends or sibs. Thursday was spent recovering after the mess that was Wednesday (see previous post). I managed to get out of the house to meet up with Jane and Kheyann at Metrotown. Unfortunately I didn't get to hang out with Jane for long because she had to go to ballet. However Kheyann and I went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, which by the way I did not have high expectations for, and guess what? I actually liked it. Even after being so sick of seeing the cheesy premise of the movie laid out in the ads I was pleasantly surprised. Who am I kidding?! I. Love. Cheese. I am just about the sappiest person I know. The soundtrack lived up to the film's title and I lovedlovedloved every track, so I downloaded all of them. Oh, and my new life goal is to be Kat Dennings. Frack. Why does she have to be so pretty?! After the movie I checked out Khey's new crib and had some cider before rushing off to work. We had an event for Free Ride Entertainment. They presented a premiere screening of "Never Enough", which has something to do with dirt bikes? or extreme biking type things? I dunno what the exact term for it is. It wasn't too crazy, seeing as how the real party was at a 19+ only party later at Dollhouse Studios. That basically meant about 50% of the customers at the Rio were just LBs with their fathers, or almost legal teenage boys.

Friday night was the CCCSA event I put together-- Glow in the Dark bowling at Town and Country! Woot. I'll write a separate post about that, complete with photos.

Saturday afternoon was spent with the sibs. We headed to Tinseltown and caught How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. 1) Damn I love Simon Pegg. 2) Surprisingly I didn't find Megan Fox annoying. 3) I actually liked Kirsten Dunst more than I usually do. I truly think it is only because she plays opposite Simon Pegg, whom I love. Afterwards, we headed back home and then I had to go straight to work.

Today Yesterday, I worked with Jane and got to make up for the lack of hang-out time on Thursday. Generally Sundays are pretty lame but we had fun catching up and singing Lauryn Hill and planning our date for Thursday. We have to go out to AA and get our costumes ready for her Superhero themed birthday party and then later in the evening we'll be going out to celebrate my 1 year of vegetarianism at Foundations, one of my fave vegetarian restaurants. The food is so good that every time I go back it is a conscious decision that the value of the food itself is much greater than the importance of how the hipsters consistently treat me as if I don't deserve to be served by them.

And that brings me to today! (Warning: Major Cheese Sauce ahead)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

I would like to give thanks to mi familia. Chiong Thunder, baby. To my parents who've always supported me in all my endeavours, and to my sibs who discouraged me enough it just made me want it even more.

To all my friends. To the handful of you who have been my best friends since high school, you all know that if it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't be alive today. With that being said, I am most grateful for my newest best friend, my boyfriend Tim. I am so honoured to be a part of your life and so humble to be able to share mine with you. I love you babe.

So it's 2AM, which means it's time to either
a) Watch something comedic. Probs Bob Saget related.
b) Play my DS. (I've recently discovered I thoroughly enjoy Sudoku on Brain Age 2) or
c) lie in bed and think about life until I fall asleep.

I'll probably do all of the above.
Goooooooood night.

love love love,

Dorothy
